Blog Premiere Contest Extravaganza
Posted on June 1st, 2008 by Jason under Daily RamblingIsn’t it a pain to have to keep coming up with different contest titles? Hehe.
As you guys know, I launched one of my first ever online communities last month with Blog Premiere’s forums… it’s been growing fairly well with no paid promotion whatsoever and currently has a hundred or so members and almost 4,000 posts.
Less than one year from now, I hope that this will be the biggest blogging forums out there. And why not reward people for helping me out?
I know there have been quite a few blog contests over the last few weeks… a lot of them where the prize value reaching into the thousands, including my last one. However, how many of those prizes were actually useful? I don’t know about you, but usually for me winning an ad spot or a link on a blog with less than 1,000 uniques a day (and I’m including my own here) doesn’t really excite me much. Although I had dozens of offered ad slots, reviews and links sponsored, I decided to turn them down - there are less prizes than in your average contest, but the prizes are worth oh so much more.
First off… first place will win a FULL BLOWN CUSTOM WORDPRESS THEME. I will send a cookie by airmail to all those that guessed - but seriously, one of the most important things for any blog is how you brand yourself… and your theme is about 80% of that. It’s not just the theme that is up for grabs though… I’ve specially asked my designer and he’s throwing in a custom mascot for the first place winner - same quality as TUK’s header and various other blogs out there. You’ll also get a year’s hosting, a domain and the ultimate monetization tool for your blog… meaning that all you have to worry about is promoting and content.
How can you pass this up? A custom Wordpress theme with header could cost upwards of $2,000 - you just need to look at some of the established designers in the industry to see that.
Here’s the full prize list, for you to enjoy. Every single one of these prizes is useful in some way or another.

Ultimate Blogging Package
Hosting Package
Twelve Months Swamp Plan by Hostgator

One .COM domain by Blog Premiere

Fourth place winner gets:

The contest will run on a points scheme… whoever gets the most points wins. Contests with random draws are great, but come on… how would you feel if you slaved for hours to win something, racking up hundreds of points and just by your bad luck the guy who signed up yesterday and has one point wins the whole thing?
I like to reward people for action… and the person that does the most action throughout this contest wins. If you pick up the most points (and they’re damned easy to get!) you walk away with top place, and so on for second place etc.
How to get points
300 Points for submitting an accepted article to Blog Premiere’s magazine.
300 Points for blogging about the contest with all sponsor links attached.
100 Points for blogging about the contest without all sponsor links attached
50 Points for joining Blog Premiere’s forums
10 Points for Stumbling this contest entry
5 Points per day you link to Blog Premiere on your website.
3 Points per thread you start on Blog Premiere
1 Point per post you make on Blog Premiere

First prize is the best I’ve seen out of any contest to date, that’s definitely worth a little effort to get some entries in. Best of luck in this promo contest

One thing I have to say about this is it is a great contest. The other thing is since the WinningtheWeb contest huge contests have been so popular they’ve lost a lot of their “specialness”. It’s not rare to see a $x,xxx contest these days. That being said I think this one should do well due to the prizes in it…

@MoneyBites, that’s true, but the first place prizes in this contest are really extraordinary and I think that it’s gonna bring in a lot of people.

Yeah… huge contests are useless nowadays. Which is why I kept the amount of prizes low, but value so, so high…
I stumbled it
I tend to post a lot at blog premiere as it is, so that part won’t be too hard…the only sad thing is we’re leaving on vacation
How long is this contest running?

Yeah, you get points for whatever you’ve already done… you can get quite a few more though..
Sweet list of prizes and I like the points scheme approach. This should create quite a stir around the BP site/forums. Good luck to everyone.
Interesting contest. I will participate soon.
