So, it’s that time of year again. I’m told that some people refer to it as Christmas but for me and many other teenagers around not only the UK, but most of the world, it’s a time we refer to as Exam Time.

Reality Check; while you’re sitting around gloating over what you got this Christmas and digesting that large chunk of turkey you were eating just 5 days ago; millions of teenagers are sitting at a desk (or dining table) with their heads down revising away. I say millions, because there are a good few anomalies.

Take Jason for example; have you noticed that the last few posts, around this time, have been some of his best? Take a look at “Generating Buzz is the Way Forward” for example - wouldn’t you agree?

Applying the theory to myself, what is probably one of my most entertaining posts (Get off your butt and go get yourself a McJob!) was written a week before some of my most important exams (GCSE’s for those of you are up to date with the limbo).

Can’t see the link between exams and the quality of blog posts? Neither could I. Then I realised my eyes were closed (haha) I’ve given this idea some thought, a whole three minutes of my time in fact and even though I pretend to be, I am by no means an expert, but here’s what I think:

Normally, you blog for the sake of blogging. You do some research on your post if needed (I mean us bloggers are well lazy, but most of us spend a few minutes researching or thinking out our posts before going for it).

During stressful times, blogging becomes a form of relaxation. So the writer’s lighter side is exposed. Another possible explanation is that revision eats into free time. So we only have time to post the best of our posts and as a result, other posts don?t make it to the publication stage.

The bottom line then , I guess, is that a little bit of stress can do your blog posts some good. So, get out there and go sit some exams! What type?

I don’t care what type they are! The more the stress, the better! :P

Note: I do not get stressed, mainly because, well… I can’t be bothered worrying about some official looking questions on a paper that generally don’t relate to life. As for guest posting on TUK, if you’d like to send in a post feel free; if it’s decent enough, it will be published and you’ll have the happy bunch over here rip your post apart appreciate the blogging quality of someone else - they have to get tired of me eventually. If you’d like to guest post, just drop me a line at admin[at]theuniversitykid[dot]com and I’ll put it up if good enough. It’s gotta be on a Make Money Online/Blogging Tips topic, although if you have a story about the latest idiot you dealt with in the online world and think that the readers of TUK would be interested, feel free to send it to me.
