Marketing is king… and it always will be. You can have the best product in the world (in this case, your product is your blog) but if you do not market it - you will fail.

Paying for a review is all well and good if you can afford it, but what about those of us that do not have the money or those of us that think paid reviews are for morons? Well then… you have a problem.

I’ve always recommended guest posting as an extremely cost effective way to get your name out there, a way that destroys buying paid reviews… and this is the first way you can get a blog post of yours on a top blog for $10. Outsource… as long as the content is good and unique, most bloggers will accept a post, and even if they don’t you can use it on your own blog. You will generally get quite a good blog post for $10 on the various large webmaster forums… ask for lots of samples and you’ll be fine.

Oh no, he’s boring us. Yet another post about those damned guest posts?

No… I do have another thing I’ll talk about.

Some of you may not have the time or want to put out guest posts… no matter how you create one, you’ll piss off someone - even if you’re talking about sheep in Malaysia that blog between eating their cereal and playing football, you’re going to annoy someone. And this is where the next idea can come into play.

Bribing bloggers for links.

Everyone loves free stuff… you can see this especially at giveaways. Even if the actual value of things being given away are a few pennies, people tend to go mad over free things… and bloggers are no different. And while you may do well with virtual products, it is tangible products that you can use best to get bloggers to post about you. And that is what we will do.

I’ll give you an example… Gyutae Park, who runs Winning the Web. Now, a review on WTW costs $100… not too expensive but definitely out of reach for a newbie blogger.

A tshirt, however of WTW costs $9 + shipping… that’s $14. And if you send in a picture, you’ll get a blog post… saving yourself $86 and getting a free decent quality tshirt too. Now I got the shirt free, because I have photos of Gyutae that could send him to jail I won it in a contest, but if I hadn’t, I would have paid for it.

It’s not just Gyutae that does this though… Shoemoney (who has more than 15,000 subscribers - now isn’t that a nice traffic boost) will also feature you on a post on his blog if you send in a picture. And tshirts (assuming that you live in America, which I sadly don’t :) ) cost $5… whereas a review would cost at least $500. Who wants to calculate the savings?

Last but not least, send in a photo of yourself wearing a Blog Premiere tshirt (sadly, at the moment only Indians can purchase this as shipping to the USA and similar places costs $50+) and I’ll mention you on TUK as well as give you a free monthly text link (which sells for $10). With the tshirt costing just $8 for Indian residents… you get the idea.

Now, the key to this is being different. A few of you will remember Market Leverage, who went a bit mad buying tshirts recently… the total cost of the campaign must have been in the low hundreds; the exposure they got reaching the low thousands. And then of course there’s Bob from John Cow, who sent his namesake clothes for his baby daughter with a picture of a Cow… are you going to forget that quickly?

I wrote this post to get some free stuff and increase sales of Blog Premiere tees to give you guys some marketing ideas… it doesn’t have to be expensive, remember that. Just creative, and you can get a blog post on any blog in this niche within the next week if you think smart.

Okay… a few of you have been asking about the product launch… it will retail at $47 but there will probably be at least a 50% discount for TUKers and BPers. I’ve also worked on getting a few killer bonuses, bonuses that are actually useful and bonuses that are well worth the price alone. Still looking for reviews - audio only so if you can supply me with one drop me an email or get on instant messenger (which is better. Thanks guys :) )
