This is a review entirely because I liked the software - I was not paid a dime for it.

I’ll admit - I was skeptical about OIO Publisher, as ad spots tend to sell well on TUK - although I heard it was better as it saved you time, I had plenty of time so that was not an issue. So skeptical was I that I told Max (at Moneybites) I was not going to pay a cent for it and even turned down a free copy a couple times; anyways, he eventually convinced me to have a go, and although (like everything  ) I found it confusing to setup, the support was immense.

My results from OIO are this:

Expenses:

Nothing (received free)

Revenues:

One 125 x 125 sold - $35

Two links sold - $20

Although that is not an amazing sum by any means, this was made in the 24 hours after I put it up - without me having to do a single bit of work. Meaning that even if I had paid for it, I would have made my money back the same day, and a little bit more on top.

This is not the only success story - Max at Money Bites saw 4 ad slots go sold the day after he put up the plugin, and so did a few others (you can check out their squeeze page). I guess some advertisers just can’t be bothered to email, and would prefer having their link put up near instantly after payment.

I do not think OIO Publisher is needed for small blogs - you will not be selling ad space on them anytime soon. However, for medium-large ones, they help, as shown in the real life example above.

Although the interface takes time getting used to, it is fairly easy to use and as I mentioned, support is sweet; they also have a fairly decent affiliate program that pays 50% ($18.5/sale).

You can buy OIO here. It is well worth the $37.00, I feel :)
