Earnings - February, 2008

Posted by Jason in Earnings

I did say I’d post up earnings monthly; here they are. I’m disappointed as the earnings are considerably less than they were last month, although there are reasons for that no one likes to see earnings drop - I’ll be working on trying to get those up and maybe even break a personal record this month, if possible. :)

Earnings, February 2008

I withdrew everything at the start of the month (last month’s earnings), so this month’s earnings are pretty easy to track.

In the middle, I withdrew most earnings from this month, most of which came from eBook sales and a website flip.

The withdrawn amount was $1,200 and then current amount of money left in my account is $378.04.

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

I also made $85.17 through Shopping Ads, which was a nice bonus, considering well… I didn’t do any work for it (bought into a marketing package on Digital Point).

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

That’s $85.17 in Shopping Ads, a massive $7.4 in NeverBlue Ads and $13.11 in Adsense, where I still haven’t received my PIN and they’ve disabled my account until I verify my contact details - how am I supposed to do that without the PIN?

I’ve got over $500 in Adsense, and they’ve said if I don’t enter my PIN within 60 days they’ll return it to advertisers - I’ve sent them a couple of emails to see what’s up.

So the total for this month is: $1683.72

A lot better than a few months ago but worse than the last couple, which is obviously disappointing.

Why did earnings drop?

- Holidays. Went to India for almost half the month where I didn’t earn a cent as I was away from the computer; everyone needs a break once in a while :)

- University. Uni started this month and coupled with the pile up of work left (I still haven’t finished most of it) due to me missing a chunk because of the holidays, I’ve had to cut down on online business

- Being banned from DP - through no fault of my own, I was banned and I relied on the place too much, as it was great for small term deals; I’ve learned a bit about diversifying my income, and will be following through with that in the next few months.

How was your February, 2008?

I do have some plans for March, 2008; here’s a couple of them.

Membership website.

Thanks to my good friend Chris @ CGM Technologies the membership website script is now installed; I have to find out how to edit the pages though, as it looks a bit complicated; I should have some free time next weekend though so will try and set everything up :)

Bloggers Magazine

There are quite a few magazines out there for business - Entrepreneur is one of them, and it focuses on the upcoming gurus; I don’t think there’s an establised magazine solely dedicated to bloggers as yet though. I’m of course by no means an experienced blogger, however I’ve learned enough in my short months so far to be able to help others; I’m thinking articles, interviews, maybe reviews of monetization techniques - it could be a lot of fun. If you’d like to contribute in some way, just drop me an email; I’m thinking run it as an online edition for now and if it kicks off just maybe aim for the big time (and being published in print :) ).

Affiliate Marketing

I dropped $120 on my first go in Adwords with no success; I’ll be trying a bit more. In recent weeks, I’ve read quite a bit about affiliate marketing, and will be putting into action a few of the techniques I learned. We’ll see how it goes, and I’ll of course update on my progress (good or bad ;) ).

Monetizing this blog

At the moment, this blog is vastly under-monetized; at the moment, there’s only the ad spots on the right and one above the fold. I’m looking at further ways - obviously I don’t want this to become a spam bilboard, but there is room for a couple more ads; I’ll run a post tomorrow asking you guys what you think would work best, as obviously I don’t want to be pissing off any of my readers too much

At the moment though I’ve added Scratchback to the sidebar - a lot of people asked me to add a ‘Donate’ button to the blog, but to be honest I don’t like money just like that - if you want to thank me for my blogging, you can either purchase Advertising or now use Scratchback, which gives you a link for as little as a dollar (which will eventually increase - I’m testing out how good it is at the moment). I asked for a custom widget a month or so ago and I believe it’s finished, so will be eagerly waiting to see what it looks like :)

That’s all for now - I’ve already received more than 50 prizes (that’s 50 reviews I’ve gotta write :o ) and of course wouldn’t mind a few more at all; if you’d like to sponsor something, drop me an email :)

Earnings - January, 2008

Posted by Jason in Earnings, Make Money Online

Alright, I know a few of you find my blog somewhat interesting, but these are the posts you all wait for. The one thing a make money online blog must do is post earning stats - to give out advice, you have to be doing it yourself. I stay extremely wary of bloggers that don’t post their statistics - it is easy to talk the talk, but not so easy to walk it - and if you can’t walk it, then why am I taking advice from you?

Now, before I post - my statistics are by no means exemplary; heck, they could have been a lot better but ah well. Family stuff and me relaxing a bit too much (happens when you get a tonne of holidays :) ) means that I was fighting an uphill battle.

Paypal

Last month I earned a decent amount - being someone that doesn’t like to keep too much in his Paypal, mainly due to all the hundreds of stories of people being limited, hacked or whatnot I’m wary of keeping more than $2,000 in there. Another bad thing is that I don’t empty my account every month, so have to do all this calculation crap (Paypal should do it themselves  ) - if I remove all funds, I’m scared I’ll come across an amazing deal (like some idiot selling an LLL.com for $100) and not have the money to purchase.

Anyways, at the end of last month I didn’t remove funds, because I was of course waiting for the site money to come in - let’s try and put this together.

At the end of last month, I had $1307.94 sitting in my Paypal account. (from December)

Soon after I received the money for my eBook site, I withdrew $2,500 on January 2nd.

MultiHoster

Leaving $2,500 - $1307.94 = 1192.06 so far this month (which was withdrawn).

At the end of the month, I currently have

Which means the total in Paypal for the month is $1192.06 + 1346.02 = $2538.08

That’s my main earnings; the rest are minimal. Anyways, to round them up:

Affiliate Marketing

My goal was to earn $100 through affiliate marketing this month. For that, I used Hostican and NeverBlue Ads.

Hostican

I made one affiliate sale, mainly due to this article.

One of those a month and I’ll be a happy bunny. Considering they pay $70 for a $90 sale, it’s worth joining Hostican just for their affiliate program. Make sure you use the coupon code BestHosting-12 to get $50 off :)

NeverBlue Ads

I started off with a bang - earning $18 with a $3 investment on my first day, and thought I could easily do $100 by the end of the month - my Adwords account stopped working and it ended up getting me one click per 100,000 impressions or similar. Anyways, I’ll be working on it a bit more once I can get it working, but earnings for the month were $23.7.

MultiHoster

Total from affiliate earnings in January, 2008: $23.7 + $70 = $93.7

Goal failed. I’ll work harder next month, if I have time - sadly, the Text Link Ad Network brought in zilch :(

Adsense

At the start of the month my earnings died because I got rid of most of my proxies and failed to switch over the others onto a decent server. Anyways, I’m not going to be promoting them until I get my PIN - it’s been three months already without it, despite contacting them quite a bit.

MultiHoster

Adsense for January: $33.23

Total earned in January, 2008: $2538.08 + $93.7 + $33.23 = $2665.01

Better than last month, which is improvement in my book - yes, it could have been more, but I wouldn’t mind the same amount of improvement next month :)

Last but not least, I’ve bought advertising (in rotation, but it’s still advertising  ) on Shoemoney for the next four weeks through Adtoll. Go there and refresh the page a couple thousands times, and you should see it at least once. So far I’ve had eight clicks at a CPC of $0.34 each… not bad, I guess :)

How did you do in January, 2008?

Earnings: December 2007 | Happy New Year and a whole lotta other stuff

Posted by Jason in Earnings

Happy New Year all.

Hope you had a good one; plenty of good luck and well wishes (and all that other crap  ) for 2008. What I will hope is that you earn and learn (cheesy, eh? ) more than you did in 2007.

As for earnings - I promised I’d show earnings and of course proof; heck, I could state I earned $15,000 last month but I doubt any of y’all would believe me (considering my slightly lazy attitude). Anyways, the problem is that I didn’t withdraw money at the end of November, as I wanted to invest is some stuff - I will try and piece it together below. I don’t like leaving a lot of money in my Paypal account, so I withdrew $2,000 in the middle of the month - anyways, let’s try and add it up.

Funds Withdrawn

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

That was in the middle of this month, and is $2000 USD - this also includes last month’s Paypal total of $983 so doing some quick Math (my favourite subject). So total earnings this month so far is $2000 - $983 = 1017

That already surpasses last month’s Paypal balance. But I’ve got more; of course, I continued business after that withdrawal and today’s total reads at a decent $1,307.94 - almost better than all my earnings last month.

So the total earnings for this month is $1017 + $1307.94 = $2324.94

Something I’m pretty happy with, considering it’s around $1000 more than I earned last month. If the goal is to continually improve (which I’m definitely aiming for), this is a good jump. Do you see me earnings $3,324.94 in January, 2008?

So that’s the Paypal balance out of the way. It would have been a bit more but the eCheck for my website still hasn’t gone through - thank fook as I’d have a huge total to surpass this month. Anyways, the $1,500 coming in will be a good start to 2008, and I will only need to double it (easy? hah) to reach my aims. Now - Adsense; I’m really sorry to say that I slacked this month and didn’t promote any of my proxies - apart from a couple times I paid someone to do it, I slacked off pretty much. All earnings were from proxies apart from a $0.04 click I received on an ancient soccer website of mine (w00t! )

Adsense Earnings - December

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

That’s around $60 less than last month… meh. I did use that promotion time on other, more lucrative things. Anyways, my goal will be to finally break $250.00 in January; what about you?

Total Adsense Earnings: $175.11

That’s two things out of the way. I would like to diversify my income, and the only reason I haven’t is because, well - article marketing sounds like a total b!tch; anyways, I did make a bit more on affiliate programs than I did last month, which is all I can hope for, I guess; thankfully my TLA eBook was not a total waste. I made $50.00 and a bit from Auction Ads too.

Text Link Ads

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

That was all made from this eBook - we’ll see how it goes; I might continue to promote it in 2008, but then again I might not.

Auctions ads. Now, I bought into a marketing package on Digital Point, so someone else is doing all the work for me; anyways, Auction Ads (aff link)
give you a $25.00 bonus to startup; I thought they were owned by Shoemoney, but some have said that TLA are in charge of them. At well; they pay through Paypal, which beats Commission Junction any day; if you’d like to signup, please use my cleverly disguised affiliate link, as I’ll get a massive 5% of everything you make

I’ve included the bonus, as they payout when you reach $50.00 - that shouldn’t be too far away. Considering you get half that free, it’s not bad just signing up for the heck of it. I made a massive four bucks outside the bonus, so the total for the month is:

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

Auction Ads Earnings: $29.57

Err… total from affiliate earnings is $79.57. Might as well retire now, seeing that I’ve reached Uber-Affiliate status, eh?

My goal for January is to reach at least $100.00 in affiliate earnings. Possible? I think. Easy? Naah. Might have to do the writing and stuff myself; we’ll see.

Total for December, 2007: $2324.94 + $175.11 + $79.57 = $2579.62

Almost double last month’s earnings; onwards and upwards hopefully.

Alright, now we’ve got past the earnings crap, a bit of other stuff…

The Entrecard contest - I used Random.org (easier than fooking MS Excel, eh) to draw a number between 1 - 17 (the amount of comments on the last post); the number drawn was 15. Were you the 15th commentator? Head on over and have a look… :). I racked up another 100 or so credits during the night, so I’ll give out 600 to the winner - just ask me on MSN/Yahoo.

Guest posters

I’ve seen quite a few people ask for guest posters in recent days, anyways I’m going to have to join the trend - my exams of course start tomorrow, and I won’t have time to post in the lengths I’ve been doing, so I’ll need one guest post a day between January 2nd - January 7th. If you feel up for it, just message me/drop me an email and I’ll add you as an author so that you can post drafts; I’ll approve the draft and then it can go live. If you’d like to be a guest poster on TUK, please have some samples of past work; the topics you could write about are blogging/making money online/internet marketing. Also, if you do not use a spell checker, I will shoot you.

My New Year Troll

Now, most trolls are unfriendly creatures; I had a return of my good ole friend Carlos who is on his way to being banned thrice. He visited the blog three times yesterday, and had a few friendly comments; don’t you wish that all trolls were like that? I’d ban him, but I’m thinking that keeping him as a pet would be, well… better, considering his fine comments. Take a look at them here; don’t you love the edit comment function in WordPress?

Anyways, New Year and all, gotta run; have a good one everyone; let’s hope Arsenal win today and all y’all get off to a good start. Put the money making on hold and enjoy the food or something; better pray that I pass them exams too eh? Later!

Earnings - November 2007

Posted by Jason in Earnings

Come on, admit it; this was the post that all of y’all were waiting for. Here’s my earnings for November 2007; I’m a long way off the $2,500 I was aiming for in the $15,000 challenge, but considering most of my ‘competitors’ have buzzed off, meh. My aim will be to improve on the previous month; as I said, if I have any chance of wanting to do this full time, I will a) have to earn more, and b) diversify those earnings. A large part of my income has been in the buying and selling of eBooks, although Adsense did make up a decent chunk; while say 99.9% of those Adsense earnings from proxies, I do not have any now and will have to start up a few- as well as other Adsense websites that I will hope to earn off.

Paypal balance - $982.97

All business deals I’ve conducted I’ve been paid for by Paypal - copywriting, buying/selling domains and websites and whatnot. The lazy person that I am, I do not have detailed statistics for what % of income came from where. I have not conducted any big deals for domains this month, so I can safely assume that around 85% of that came from activities related to writing (either articles for clients or selling eBooks).

Google Adsense - $290.88

Free Image Hosting at www.ImageShack.us

These Adsense earnings are actually since around October 18th, but as I hadn’t broken the $100 mark till around November 5th here they are. The majority of that ($231.83) was from one website (CloakUs.com) which I’ve now been scammed out of (more on that below) so earnings for Adsense have died; I hope to raise it for this month.

Affiliate Programs - $70.00

Now I suck ass at affiliate marketing, so only $70.00 was generated from this; I was lucky enough to be around on Digital Point when someone wanted hosting, and he signed up using my affiliate link. I have no problem promoting HostICan, as their package is relatively decent; it’s actually what TUK is hosted on. If any of you want to signup with them, let me know and I’ll give you my affiliate link and a coupon code you can use

These earnings would have been more, if not for a scammer; I sold CloakUs.com yesterday for $650.00 but the guy paid with a phished account and thus I have now lost both the domain name and the funds. I have submitted a claim with GoDaddy, but they claim they can’t do anything, and I have already spoken to the other party who’s account was hacked and obviously he cannot do anything either. He has actually set up the website with his own Adsense Pub ID, and is probably making good money off it; sadly it seems like there is nothing I can do. In the future, I will look at a different way of carrying out dealings with people I don’t know; the guy had 45+ iTraders though so I’m not sure what can be done.

Total earnings for the month - $1343.85

An improvement of around $600 from last month, which I’m pretty happy with considering I only started all this two months ago; it would have been close to $2000 though if the sale of CloakUs had gone through properly and the f**kin’ designer had prepared the eBook website. My proxy server finally got put up so I’ll be learning how to use it in the next few days; hopefully I can raise some money with selling hosting through that. As for how much I’ve spent, I added it up a while back and it was close to $1100; I’ve spent a bit more since then so I’d estimate it comes to around $1500. Hopefully all of you will see increases in your earnings and are closer to reaching your goals; Good Luck! :D

Earnings - October 27th

Posted by Jason in Earnings

A dead day for me but I guess the only way is down from something like yesterday’s good luck performance. I spent $23.00 on some proxy hosting so if any of y’all need setting up, drop me a line. Pretty good specs for the price, and will start my proxy network up soon. As for the arcade, the games still don’t work and the dude I bought it from seems to have vanished off the face of the Earth, so not releasing it yet. A waste of time, no? Anyways, should be getting some affiliate cash from HostICan in the next few days so not all is bad; I’ve found their affiliate program relatively easy to promote and the high percentage ($70 off a $90 sale) means that you can offer some cash back to customers and still rake it in. Anyways, time for the little numbers:

Earnings

eBook Sales: $26
Digital Products: $8

Total: $32

A day like this is considered meager for me now, but meh. I’ll be withdrawing my Paypal funds and starting at $0 on November 1st to try and start of on a level foot with the other competitors; I believe there’s quite a few now and I’ll blog about them sometime during the week. I’ve got a contest coming up soon for all y’all that like free stuff (well, who doesn’t eh) so keep in touch ;)
